The holidays are fast approaching, and what better way to celebrate than with a Christmas TV special.

You could watch the classics like A Charlie Brown Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, or you could see a special––which only aired once on TV and disappeared for decades.

That film is The Christmas Tree (1991), which gained modern interest only to get forgotten again because of its atrociousness.

Brazilian company Flamarion Ferreira Films and animator Flamarion Ferreira created the disaster, The Christmas Tree. Before The Christmas Tree, Ferreira has worked as a background artist on The Land Before Time and She-Ra: Princess of Power.

With production credits like those, what can go wrong with The Christmas Tree?

Flamarion Ferreira Films released The Christmas Tree––just time for the holidays, straight to video on September 11, 1991, with LIVE Family Home Entertainment (now Artisan Entertainment). Three months later, on December 14, 1991, the USA Network aired the special and never broadcasted it again.

Since its ‘91 airing, The Christmas Tree faded into obscurity and became lost.
