Twice NetherRealm Studios broke tradition. The first time was before they announced Mortal Kombat 11. Journalists and fanboys alike wondered why hasn’t NetherRealm unveiled their next game. Generally, there is a two-year gap between Mortal Kombat and Injustice with an E3 announcement.
Co-creator Ed Boon said NetherRealm doesn’t have a tradition. So why do they think they will announce another game this year?
MK fans lost all hope until NetherRealm announced Mortal Kombat 11 at the Video Game Awards in 2018. 2019 was MK 11’s release, and the cycle continued. We can expect another Mortal Kombat or Injustice title in two years.
