O ‘Violent Night,’ the Blood is Brightly Shining
Santa becomes an assassin with violent slasher-level action
Caution: contains spoilers.
No one ever said Santa Claus overindulges. The man eats cookies and milk at 8 billion homes and doesn’t have diabetes. Santa doesn’t understand it, but Christmas magic kept him alive from health issues or injuries for centuries.
Besides, he’s happy delivering presents to all the good boys and girls.
However, on Violent Night, he’s fed up with today’s children; all they want is more and more without showing signs of gratitude.
Santa Claus (David Harbour) ponders why he still does it as he wallows away with a drink. Yes, Santa Claus drinks in Violent Night. Santa drinks expensive liquors or a passed-out guy’s six-pack in every house he stops at.
And, of course, Santa Claus still eats milk and cookies, his trademark. He had the best cookies at the house owned by the wealthy Lightstone, who was about to get the surprise of a lifetime. The surprise? Organized criminals break into their compound to steal their vaulted cash. Santa, of course, has no choice but to save these people.
