They’ll keep you up at night
Sleeping curfews don’t exist when you’re a kid; your parents demand you go to sleep but say you don’t feel tired. Ignoring your parents’ orders, you watch television until you doze off. After a few hours of staying awake, you regret that decision. Instead, you’re watching cartoons or family-friendly shows—or if you grew up in the aughts like me — you watched Adult Swim and encountered some questionable and disturbing commercials.
When lethargy sets in, you hope the commercial with the eerie and ominous music doesn’t play. But, if it does, you remain awake until daybreak, wishing you went to bed earlier.
