City of Babylon

It’s hard to believe I once habited this city

I left this place, a pity

It’s street clean of drifting dwellers '

No Insignias of people's claims

Buildings have structure

Not crooked chains

I left this place

Schools achieving

Every child with a ticket to a promised land

I left this place

Content people

A, hey! Now and then.

Why did I leave?

The city I now inhabit lacks

A place denounced by society; symptom of its country

I want to go back

Learning of its knowledge makes every other home displaced

I should have stayed

Regret is my only disgrace
